Her expertise includes organizational strategy, executive operations, people and culture, governance, organizational transformation, strategic communications, workforce planning, enterprise risk, and crisis leadership.

Earlier in her career, as Development Officer at the Great Plains Institute, she built an annual giving program from the ground up, growing the donor base by more than 200%, tripling the constituent list, and increasing major gift prospects by over 300%. She began her nonprofit career at the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, supporting a statewide association of more than 1,850 member organizations.

TJ also brings valuable entrepreneurial experience as the owner and operator of an entertainment lounge. She currently serves as Managing Director for the East Texas Food Bank–Texarkana, where she supports efforts to alleviate hunger and strengthen communities.

Shan holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Psychology and Business Administration Management from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She has completed advanced training and certifications in crisis intervention, risk management, project management, event planning, diversity and inclusion, and conflict resolution. She is also a graduate of the Texas Child Protective Services Investigator Academy and Leadership Texarkana.
